Dicksie R. Blankenship, 89, of Clinton, IL passed away 4:35 PM, April 8, 2026 at Lincoln Village, Lincoln, IL.

Services will be 11 AM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Weldon United Methodist Church, Weldon, IL with Rev. Gary Fairchild officiating.  Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, IL.  There will be no visitation.  Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Traditions Hospice, DOVE, or the Dicksie Blankenship Memorial Fund.

Dicksie was born October 3, 1936 in Ohio the daughter of Nundor and Ruthie Smaller.  She married William T. “Bill” Blankenship April 16, 1955 at Williams Airforce Base, AZ.  He passed away April 7, 2013.

Survivors include her children:  Elizabeth Baker, Clinton, IL and Donald L. (Melody) Blankenship, Rapid River, MI; four grandchildren:  Timothy (Meghan) Baker, Clinton, IL; Shannon (Frank) Sevick, Indiana; Surena Saiter, Indiana; and Sydney Young, Rapid River, MI; seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Dicksie was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Mary Ellen Snyder.

Dicksie was a member of the Weldon United Methodist Church.  She worked at DOVE and in the dietary department at the nursing home in Farmer City.  Dicksie would collect wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches and would donate them to various organizations to give to people in need.
