Glenda Lynn Church, 78, of Decatur, IL passed away 1:01 AM, April 21, 2026 at Flanagan Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Flanagan, IL.
Services will be 11 AM Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, IL with Rev. Julie Dowler officiating. Burial will follow at Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, IL. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the Maroa or the Forsyth United Methodist Church.
Glenda was born May 24, 1947 in Decatur, IL the daughter of V. Glen and Georgia Evelyn (Owen) Thomas. She was married to David Michael Church from 1967 until 1979.
Survivors include her daughters, Michelle (Arin) Reinhart, Tuscola, IL and Julie (Jeff) Crabtree, Maroa, IL, six grandchildren, Morgan (Cody) Glick, Forsyth, IL; Makaylee (Colton Gruen) Church, Cerro Gordo, IL; Maggie Crabtree, Bloomington, IL; Austin Church, Decatur, IL; Olivia Crabtree, Chicago, IL; and Dalton Scott, Fort Riley, KS; and three great grandchildren, Easton Gruen, Briella Gruen, and Kollyns Glick, sister-in-law, Patricia Thomas, Clinton, IL, and lifelong friend, Sharon Parrott, Forsyth, IL.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, David Allen Church and Daniel Lee Church, and one brother, Richard “Dick” Thomas.
Glenda was a previous member of the Forsyth United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, All States, and the exercise group at the Maroa Public Library. Glenda attended Brown Business College, Richland Community College, and received her Bachelor of Science from Greenville College. She worked for Illinois-Missouri Rx for the 16 ½ years then worked as an Assistant for District #61, Decatur Public Schools.
